The Azalea State Natural Reserve has hiking trails and is known for its western azalea flowers. Potawot Community Garden is a 3-acre certified farmers’ market on Valley West’s south side. Humboldt Beach is about 5 miles away, and while the water is too cold for anyone but wetsuit-wearing surfers, it still has sandy shores to sit on.
