Quintessential suburban living near New York City

Nestled between Scarsdale and Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley is a quiet residential area with a small but thriving downtown, ample green space, highly rated public schools and socio-economic diversity. The neighborhood is in the heart of Westchester County and forms as part of the idyllic River Towns region, villages in the vicinity of the Hudson River. “Most of the Ardsley homebuyer pool is drawn to the area because of its proximity to New York City,” says Kelly Herman, a salesperson with Compass Greater NY, who specializes in the area. “And then if residents do feel that they want to go apple-picking or hiking, enjoy a day nature, they can drive 30 minutes north. It’s very centrally located.”

Wide variety of homes without Westchester premiums

“One thing that’s wonderful about Ardsley is that there’s a range of house style: everything from Tudor-style to midcentury modern and more contemporary colonial revivals,” Herman says. Prices vary as well. Postwar Ranch-style homes–many of which have been customized and expanded–range from $600,000 to $750,000. Larger homes go up to $1.2 million. “You get a little more house and space thank in river-front areas like Dobbs Ferry,” Herman says.
