Harvest is a new home community in the DFW metroplex
In the suburbs of northern Fort Worth, Harvest is a master-planned community built on land that was once a working farm where the Faught family raised five generations of North Texans. Today, the community honors its agricultural roots as the first “agrihood” in the DFW metroplex through its six-acre working farm surrounded by new homes and modern amenities. “People love living in Harvest because of the community. They have a gardener on staff who will help you grow food, and it still feels a little country with the big blue sky,” says Jennah Ciers, a Realtor with Re/Max DFW Associates. But this agrihood is far more than just another Texas farm, and it’s also far more than just another Texas housing development.
In addition to its working farm, Harvest has various recreational amenities and community programs that bring residents together throughout the year. “The lifestyle is what gets everyone. It’s just so active, and especially for families with kids, we have no problem letting them play outside or ride their bikes around,” says Alex Lee, a Realtor with Post Oak Realty who lives in the neighborhood. “The overarching theme is just neighbors being neighborly, which you don’t find as much these days.” Harvest maintains a small-town feel with a central location in the DFW metroplex, attracting those looking for a quiet suburb with access to urban amenities. “It’s dead center North Texas, right between Dallas and Fort Worth, so you don’t have to go too far to get anywhere in the metroplex,” Ciers says. The community’s overall CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, the lowest possible score and significantly lower than the national average of 4.

An active neighborhood with parks, pools and more
Outdoor recreation revolves around Central Park, a linear green space in the heart of the community. It’s more than a mile long and features various sports courts, picnic pavilions, a fenced-in dog park and a fitness center. Residents also have access to pocket parks with playgrounds. The Hall is the neighborhood’s main event center and overlooks Harvest Lake, a popular spot for catch-and-release fishing. Next to the lake, there are two pools and an Event Lawn where people gather for live concerts. “Sometimes, my wife and her friend will walk over there, turn on the fire pit and have some wine away from the house and the kids,” Lee says. Wide sidewalks connect these green spaces and allow residents to run, bike or walk their dogs through the neighborhood.

Modern single-family homes and townhouses cater to a range of budgets
Harvest features a mix of single-family homes and townhouses. Single-family homes include various sizes, styles and prices that accommodate a range of budgets. “The west side of the neighborhood has more entry-level homes that sell around the high 300s and low 400s. In the middle of the neighborhood are your traditional homes that start in the 500s and can go all the way up to a million,” Lee says. Most properties embrace neo-traditional design and feature open floor plans, smart-home technology and neutral brick or vinyl facades. Prices for these houses typically range from $350,000 to $900,000. In the community’s north side, larger estates have up to three acres of land and sell for $1 to $1.5 million. Townhouses occupy Harvest’s eastern side and usually sell for $330,000 to $415,000. The community has several homebuilders, and HOA dues and tax rates vary by builder and lot location. Lee notes that while Harvest should be fully built out by the end of 2025, development could extend into the next year.

On-site elementary schools include two in the Argyle ISD
The community is split between the Northwest Independent School District and the Argyle Independent School District. Most students live in the Argyle ISD and can attend one of its two on-site elementary schools: Argyle West Elementary School and Jane Ruestmann Elementary School. “It’s a sight to see when all the elementary schools let out and there are just kids walking around everywhere. When 3 p.m. rolls around, you know to be very vigilant driving around,” Lee says. Argyle West Elementary School earns an A from Niche, and Jane Ruestmann Elementary School is not yet rated, as it opened in 2024. Niche has also not rated the Argyle Sixth Grade Center, which opened in 2023. Older kids may attend the A-rated Argyle Middle School and A-plus-rated Argyle High School. The high school is best known for its award-winning marching band, which holds the record for most state championships won by any marching band in Texas. Nearby private school options include Liberty Christian School, serving prekindergarten through 12th grade.
Argyle West Elementary is graded an 8/10 according to Greatschools.org.

Lifestyle program with year-round events and community groups
Harvest is known for its active lifestyle program, hosting more than 250 activities and events each year. “They always have someone on staff doing activities,” Ciers says. Annual festivities include seasonal celebrations like the Harvest Eggstravaganza, which Lee notes is a community favorite. “The first year they did that, they dropped 10,000 eggs from a helicopter,” he says. “We also have an adult Easter egg hunt where they give out bottles of whiskey and gift cards.” People also gather on the Event Lawn for Harvest Market Days, a seasonal market where all the vendors are residents. In addition to these events, Harvest offers social clubs, hobby groups and fitness classes for all ages. Halloween is another highlight for residents. “That’s one of our favorite times of year. Some of the kids in neighboring communities will get dropped off here, and there have been years where there are thousands of people walking around,” Lee says. “Even the adults get treats. I put together a booze map for all the parents, and most of the houses give out beer or Jell-o shots.”

Community coffeehouse, future shopping center and nearby retail options
Across from the Event Lawn, Farmhouse Coffee & Treasures is a cheery gathering place with a bright yellow exterior and spacious wraparound porch. The shop serves coffee and breakfast in a century-old farmhouse that doubles as a boutique where residents can browse a handpicked collection of gifts, antiques and home décor. On Sunday afternoons, it hosts The Gathering Table Church. Construction is underway on the Harvest Town Center, a shopping center that is currently home to Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s and Chase Bank. Future additions include Tom Thumb, which is expected to open in the spring of 2026. There are a handful of shops and restaurants in the Northlake Commons. The shopping plaza sits along the community’s southern edge and features Desi Chowrastha, a specialty supermarket with fresh produce, Indian food and grocery essentials. The plaza also has a few hair and nail salons. Dining options range from fast-casual spots like Papa Johns and Gyro & Grill Mediterranean to local favorites such as Northlake Café and Tequila Ranch Cocina, a Mexican restaurant known for its traditional flavors. For groceries, Lee says residents typically head 8 miles east to the Kroger in Bartonville. Chains like Target, Walmart and Lowe’s are less than 15 miles away in Highland Village.

Access to I-35W and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex
Harvest sits along Interstate 35W. “It’s pretty easy to get on and off the highway,” Lee says. I-35W offers a direct route to Fort Worth, less than 30 miles south. It also connects residents with other thoroughfares like State Highway 114, which leads about 45 miles southeast to Dallas. For flights, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is around 22 miles from the neighborhood. “Most of my clients want to be close to DFW. It’s an easy 20- or 25-minute drive depending on traffic,” Lee says. Harvest is also about 15 miles north of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance.
