Fairburn Heights is a suburban West Atlanta neighborhood with access to the city
From Fairburn Heights, residents can easily get to wherever they want to go. The community sits at the intersection of interstates 285 and 20, which respectively can take drivers around and through the heart of Atlanta — or, in the case of I-20 West, toward Six Flags Over Georgia. Residents can also elect to stay local. Though the neighborhood is primarily residential, shops, restaurants and parks can be found close by.

Ranch-style and midcentury modern homes at relatively low prices
The neighborhood is primarily filled with ranch-style homes, many of which were built in the 1960s or earlier. They can range from $200,000 to $285,000. A handful of midcentury modern-influenced homes can be found along Collier Drive. These houses can go between $330,000 and $340,000. Most small neighborhood roads lack sidewalks, but main thoroughfares like Fairburn Road Northwest do have them. Tall trees line the streets. Myra Killings, a broker with Joseph Property Advisors, says new developments close to the neighborhood, like the $450 million mixed-use redevelopment of The Mall West End, could cause prices to rise in the near future. That development is just over 5 miles from Fairburn Heights. “Right now, it's still attractive for the bargain buyer,” Killings says. “When these developments are done, they’ll gain equity in their homes.” The neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 5 out of 10, which is slightly higher than the national average of 4 and driven by elevated violent crime scores.
