Outdoor options abound in Memorial Park
Named for one of Atlanta’s largest parks, Memorial Park supports an active lifestyle centered around tennis, golf, hiking and biking. The BeltLine Trail, a 22-mile pedestrian loop around the city, runs through the neighborhood’s namesake park and passes by a nine-hole public golf course and the city’s largest tennis center. Memorial Park is in Atlanta’s upscale Buckhead district, just 6 miles from downtown. The neighborhood’s scenery and convenient location combine with a wide-ranging selection of homes and highly rated schools. “You take the walkability, pocket parks and all the paths for biking, and throw that in with renovated a clubhouse and golf course, and you get why it’s one of the most celebrated neighborhoods in Atlanta,” says Bonneau Ansley, founder of Ansley Real Estate and fifth generation Atlanta native.
Just a few miles from Downtown, Memorial Park is a jewel in Buckhead offering natural serenity near the heart of the city.

Atlanta Memorial Park connects to the Northside BeltLine
The neighborhood earns it name from the 200-acre Atlanta Memorial Park on Woodward Way. While the park was damaged after heavy flooding in 2009, it has been built back up by The Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy over the last 15 years. The park’s Bitsy Grant Tennis Center has 28 courts, making it the largest tennis center in Atlanta, and is next to the public Bobby Jones Golf Course. Memorial Park also connects to the Northside Beltline. A short walk or bike ride along the Beltline leads to the scenic trails at neighboring Tanyard Creek Park on 28th Street. “You have Memorial Park, you’ve got Bobby Jones Golf Course, there’s just a lot going on there that’s appealing,” says Cathy LaMon, a Realtor with Keller Williams, who lives in Buckhead.” Ahavath Achim Synagogue on Peachtree Battle Avenue is on the north side of Atlanta Memorial Park, and other houses of worship like Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church on Collier Road and Al-Farooq Masjid on 14th Street are within 5 miles of the park.
