Peachtree Heights: Serenity in the city
Peachtree Heights is bisected by the business-lined, traffic-laden Peachtree Road. Still, peaceful scenery permeates the uptown Atlanta neighborhood – especially its Duck Pond Park. “It’s smack dab in the middle of the city, but when you’re at the duck pond, you feel like you are transported to another place,” says Shoy Cooper, a Realtor with Century 21 Results. “All you can see are gorgeous homes and this beautiful duck pond. You don’t realize that you are near one of the most traveled areas in Buckhead and around the corner there are all these great restaurants.” A geographically large neighborhood with more than 5,000 homes, Peachtree Heights is marked by its variety of housing options in proximity to restaurants and shops along Peachtree Road.

Duck, duck, goose at Peachtree Heights park
Duck Pond Park in Peachtree Heights East hosts many al fresco meals along its still waters or under its sweet gum trees. “It’s a great place to have a picnic,” Cooper says. “It’s a little oasis in the city.” Parkgoers may have unexpected guests in the form of the mallards and geese that roam the greenspace. However, the park outlaws sharing leftovers with the birds. On the north end of the neighborhood, exhibitions, curated gardens and antique structures sprawl across the Atlanta History Center’s grounds.
