Ridgedale Park
Walking distance to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza
Ridgedale Park is within walking distance to the best of Buckhead: the Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza malls. Lenox Square features high-end retailers like Louis Vuitton, Apple, Bloomingdales and Zara, as well as a food court with popular restaurants like True Food Kitchen, the Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen. Phipps Plaza is known for its luxury shopping, and visitors can shop brands such as Gucci, Versace and Tiffany & Co. There are also nine eateries within Citizens Market food hall, and entertainment venues, including a 14-screen movie theatre and a Legoland Discovery Center. Residents also aren’t far from everyday amenities like Kroger, Walgreens and Starbucks.Historic homes and luxury condos
A variety of home styles line Ridgedale Park’s wide, walkable streets. Mediterranean-style condos, vintage Cape Cods with rooftop dormer windows and sleek, sprawling modern constructions sit next to each other. “Most of the houses are really cute," Williams says. "They’re mostly 1920s bungalows. People love that look. Because the houses are so much older, there are many mature trees, but if you live in a condo, you could have views of Downtown and Midtown Atlanta.” Single-family homes are typically situated on lots of a quarter-acre or more. Condos and townhomes might have amenities such as pools, fitness centers, dog parks, and balconies. And while Ridgedale Park is within walking distance to high-end shopping destinations such as Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square, single-family homes are nestled in wooded areas. Many residents in the area rent; however, there’s a good number of homeowners. Potential homebuyers can find a single-story home for around $750,000, while a 7,000-square-foot estate will cost around $4 million. Condos range from $300,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit to around $875,000 for a luxury penthouse with skyline views. The Lenbrook upscale retirement community is also in the neighborhood.
A for North Atlanta High School
“People move here just for the schools,” Williams says. Students are zoned for Atlanta Public Schools. They can attend Sarah Smith Elementary School, which earns an A-minus from Niche, before Sutton Middle School, which gets a B-plus. They can finish their public education at North Atlanta High School, which gets an A and has the oldest International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in the southeast. It also has a Dual Language Immersion program, where students spend half the day learning in Spanish and the other half in English.Getting outside at Marie Sims Park and Lenox Park
Marie Sims Park on Roxboro Road spans nearly 2 acres. This open field is a great place to toss a frisbee, take the dog on a short walk or relax next to the soothing sound of fountains. Nearby Lenox Park has a natural trail that weaves through mature trees, a red bridge crossing a glassy pond and a fenced-in dog park for pups to play. Established in 1888, Capital City Club Brookhaven is just north of the neighborhood. A sprawling private country club, this spot is popular for weddings and other celebrations. Members gain access to the 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, pool and more.10 miles north of downtown Atlanta
Ridgedale Park is great for commuters. Using State Route 400 and Interstate 85, locals can head south to downtown Atlanta in 10 miles and reach Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in about 20 miles. There’s a MARTA bus stop on Peachtree Road, allowing locals to access the city via public transit. The Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is about 5 miles southwest.
