Southern Auburn charm
Auburn’s Grove Hill neighborhood has been one of the most sought-after places to grow roots for decades. “It’s in a pretty coveted part of our community in south Auburn,” says Lori Fuller, a Realtor with eXp Realty who has lived in the area for over 25 years. “It’s extremely convenient to everything. Auburn University — which is like the heartbeat of our town — and Downtown Auburn are like 3 miles away.” The abundance of housing options at varying price points and community amenities are big draws for potential residents. Fuller, who currently lives in Grove Hill, says people often stay a while and sometimes bring their extended family along when they move in. “It’s a pretty common thing to have multiple generations of families live in the same neighborhood.”

An abundance of Contemporary homes and renovated properties
No matter the street, it’s rare to see identical homes next to each other. The neighborhood boasts an array of architectural styles with homes built throughout several decades. Single-family homes line the sidewalk-lined streets, and towering trees sprout from front yards and the surrounding landscape. Single-family home options range from contemporary homes built in the 1990s and early 2000s that cost between $360,000 and $550,000 to homes in spacious lots that can go for $800,000 to $1.6 million. Part of the neighborhood sits alongside neighboring Moore’s Mill Club, meaning some residents have fairway views.

Neighborhood pools and an HOA
The neighborhood HOA provides many amenities for residents as well as upkeep for the neighborhood. “Our neighborhood has two really nice pools,” Fuller says, “one with a clubhouse that people can rent out. We also have three fishing ponds." HOA fees are around $500.

Nature walks along Lake Wilmore
Neighborhood kids head to Grove Hill’s namesake park to play on the expansive covered playground area. However, during the summer months, most residents head to the pool. The community’s paved trails and sidewalk-lined residential areas are great for morning exercise, and there are more trailheads at Lake Wilmore. The trails at Lake Wilmore take hikers and bikers through a natural forested landscape, and it’s not rare to see some wildlife along the way. Lake Wilmore will soon have a brand new community center built by the city, which will have an array of amenities ranging from pickleball courts, three fitness rooms and a lap pool, among many others.

Grove Hill is just 3 miles from Downtown Auburn
Auburn University alumni are just 3 miles from catching their beloved Tigers play at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Grove Hill is also about 3 miles from all of the action in downtown Auburn, which is accessible via Moore’s Mill Road. Residents drive to get around, as there isn’t much public transportation around. However, being close to Interstate 85 means nothing is too far. The East Alabama Medical Center in neighboring Opelika is about 6 miles away and has multiple awards for its specialty services. “We really live in a bubble. You can walk or drive in a couple of minutes to anything you need,” Fuller says.
