A range of housing options

Chambers Heights has an extensive collection of housing types within the neighborhood. Split-level homes and ranchers are popular, with most costing anywhere between $400,000 and $550,000. These houses are typically 1,700 to 2,000 square feet and shaded with mature trees. “I sold a home here where the buyer fell in love with the property because it had a garage and backyard where he could park his vehicles and also use the space for other things. The home itself had the feel of a mountain home, super cozy, even though it was an older brick ranch,” says Realtor Spencer Bruce with Ed Prather Real Estate. There are also a handful of condominiums and apartment complexes in the area that offer amenities like pools and private garages. Those who want a lower cost of living can join a mobile home community. Side-wide mobile homes are available in areas like The Meadows Manufactured Home Community, where residents buy their property and lease the lot space. These homes are priced as low as $30,000 and as high as $110,000, depending on age and condition.

Walking and biking trails

Toll Gate Creek snakes along the southwestern corner of Chambers Heights, offering outdoor recreation to the community through the paved and natural trails that follow it. “It’s a gorgeous walking path that bisects the neighborhood. There’s a creek that runs through manicured grass – it’s a neatly preserved area,” Bruce explains. Just east of Chambers Road, there’s an entrance onto the High Line Canal Trail, one of the longest regional trails that cuts through Aurora. Residents can go for a quick morning jog, ride their bikes or walk their pets along the path. While the neighborhood itself lacks green spaces, people won’t have to travel far to get some fresh air. Del Mar Park is roughly two miles west on Sixth Avenue and has a playground for little ones, two baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and more. Visitors can cool off at the Del Mar Swimming Pool with its corkscrew waterslides and multiple splash zones.
