Downtown Baltimore
Urban Core Neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland
Baltimore City 21201, 21202
Streets lined with historic row houses
Within a grid of busy streets, residents' front doors open right into the heart of Baltimore. Historic row houses line the streets, featuring contrasting splashes of color against brick exteriors. Though most residences only provide street parking, some Federalist-style townhouses in the eastern portion of the neighborhood feature carports and one-car garages. While some homes have compact front patios, many also include private courtyards with space for benches, plants, and ornamental outdoor décor. Homes with three bedrooms or more tend to sell from $300,000 to $400,000, with the average sale price being $350,000. Houses with less than three bedrooms range from $200,000 to $250,000, with the average sale price hovering around $225,000. “You get more bang for your buck in relation to other metropolitan cities,” says Breeden. “The home prices are half of what you’d pay for a house in DC.” Additonally, buyers can choose from one- and two-bedroom condos and apartments featuring balconies, state-of-the-art appliances and amenities including fitness centers, pools and designated parking.Entertainment in Downtown Baltimore
There’s never a dull moment in Downtown: The neighborhood is within walking distance of theaters, markets and parks, as well as the bustling Inner Harbor. History buffs and book lovers might appreciate a visit to the gravestone of Edgar Allan Poe at the Westminster Hall & Burying Ground.
