The postwar suburb of Idlewood is in north Baltimore
The long-reaching branches of mature oak and maple trees shade the sidewalks and residential streets of Idlewood, a suburban enclave about 20 minutes north of Downtown Baltimore and 10 minutes south of Towson. Most residents live in townhomes and park cars in rear-facing garage alleys. Locals also visit nearby Chinquapin Run Park and Mount Pleasant Woods Park. Being in the north end of Baltimore, residents can shop at strip malls in the city or venture to retailers at the popular Towson Town Center, a few minutes from home.
