Baltimore is a village known for its tight-knit community
Baltimore is a village of around 3,000 residents about 30 miles east of Columbus. Segmented by waterways like PawPaw Creek, the community took off when the state's canal system gained popularity in the 1800s. Today, Baltimore is better known for its atmosphere and tight-knit community. “It’s a nice, quiet town where everyone waves to each other,” says Alex Finnerty, general manager of the Baltimore Pint House. “Everyone knows everyone, but they’re also very welcoming to newcomers.” Local businesses and annual events are staples of the area and another draw for potential homeowners. Finnerty says that location is another benefit. “We’re far enough away for privacy,” she says. “But not so much that we can’t go anywhere.”
