Quiet residential homes less than a mile from downtown Bangor
The Little City neighborhood sits just north of downtown Bangor and offers spacious homes and lots that are a quick commute from downtown. Here, homebuyers will find a primarily residential area with a park in the neighborhood’s core and additional recreation along the Kenduskeag Stream to the east. Many eateries and stores are less than a mile from most homes and can be easily reached by walking or driving. “Little City often feels like its own enclave in Bangor, like it’s, well, its own little city,” says Aimi Baldwin, an associate broker with ERA Dawson-Bradford Co. “You often see a lot of professionals moving into the area with the access to downtown and the hospital right there.”

Larger yards and Colonial Revival homes
Many homes in Little City were built in the early to mid-1900s and are Colonial Revival, Victorian and New Englander inspired, with mansard roofs and wood panel siding exteriors. Lot sizes in the neighborhood can vary, and some homes take up almost the entire space and feature large lawns with long driveways. “Many houses here have backyards, especially compared to a lot of other parts of Bangor where the lots are smaller,” Baldwin says. Paved sidewalks under the shade of mature maple and cherry trees connect many of the homes in the neighborhood. Prices often range between $200,000 and $575,000.
