Bardmoor's prime location in Pinellas County and country-club lifestyle
Home to two country clubs, Bardmoor is a central, amenity-rich community in unincorporated Pinellas County. It offers a range of affordability and housing styles between Largo and St. Petersburg, about 10 miles south of Downtown Clearwater. Several commercial corridors and main roads surround it. Residents can also shop or grab a bite at the plazas within the community. “It’s all right there,” says longtime local Deborah Sundell, Realtor with Century 21 Real Estate Champions. “Everyone loves Bardmoor. It’s established, with more of a country-club feel than a suburban feel. Some of the condos are seasonal, but it’s a year-round community.”
Waterfront and golf course views in Bardmoor
The median sale price in Bardmoor is around $327,000. Sundell says the community is divided between two neighborhoods: the older Bardmoor section, largely developed between the late 1950s and 1980s, and the gated Bayou Club section, built between 1990 and the 2010s. Both neighborhoods have multifamily and single-family properties. Midcentury and Spanish eclectic ranch-style houses are popular in the Bardmoor section, which Sundell says has very low HOA fees. The homes in Bayou Club are classic Spanish and Mediterranean Revivals. Some, those custom-built on lots with waterfront or golf course views, are valued at over $2 million. Properties in special flood zones will need flood insurance. Hurricane season runs June to November.
Pinellas County Schools is the top-ranked district in Tampa area
The community is served by Pinellas County Schools, which earns an A-minus on Niche and is ranked the best school district in the Tampa area. Bardmoor's zone schools are all a short drive or bus ride away. Students living on the neighborhood’s fringes can start school at Starkey Elementary, graded B-plus, but most kids attend Bardmoor Elementary, graded B-minus. Osceola Middle earns a B. Hollins High, graded B-plus, offers college-prep and career programs called academies, such as the Academy of Entertainment Arts.
Bardmoor and the Bayou Club's sports and leisure options
Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club opened in 1971 and has been popular since. Its public 18-hole golf course was renovated in 2001, and the renovated pickleball center – an extension of the tennis club – reopened in 2023 and now features 12 pickleball courts and 14 tennis courts. The private Bayou Club opened in 1991 and offers similar, albeit newer, amenities, including a pool, poolside grill, 18-hole golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center and a clubhouse.
Convenient access to healthcare and shopping in Bardmoor
Bardmoor Emergency Center is on the neighborhood’s north side, no more than 3 miles from homes in the community, and HCA Florida Northside Hospital is about 5 miles southeast. Shopping centers are on the north and south side, off of the main drag, Starkey Road. Bardmoor Promenade has Publix, Ace Hardware, HSN Outlet, Starbucks and more familiar chains. More shopping strips are on the south side, around the Park Boulevard intersection.

Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has routes and stops on Starkey Road, though most residents get around by car. Main roads Park Boulevard and Bryan Dairy Road intersect Starkey Road, offering multiple ways to access U.S. Route 19, roughly 5 miles east, and Interstate 275, just under 10 miles east.
