Farms and recently developed subdivisions less than 2 miles from Canby
The farms and nurseries that make up the majority of Barlow form a patchwork of varying shades of green and dusty amber. In addition to farm-style properties with acreage, Barlow is also home to recently developed subdivisions, located less than 2 miles from the center of Canby and approximately 26 miles from Downtown Portland. The Willamette River is also nearby, offering numerous opportunities for hiking, boating, and fishing. “There’s a demand for a rural area that’s not in Downtown Portland, where you’re slammed in a lot with a screaming neighbor 5 feet away,” says Kirk Deignan, principal broker with the Diamond Realty Group, Inc. “It’s close to Portland. It’s cheaper than Portland, and you get some elbow room.”
