The 10,000-square-foot Canyon Club, for residents of The Fairways use only, is the central spot where neighbors gather. It has pools, a splash pad, a state-of-the-art fitness center and more.
The HOA is an active group that plans events such as park concerts, Santa's Winter Wonderland, a community-wide yard sale and an arts and crafts fair. For kids, there's Spring Fling's egg hunt, storytime, crafts, grad picture day and educational programs like Tide Pool Day.
Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon is a public course with rolling fairways suitable for multiple skill levels. The course hosts high-level events, including PGA Tour School Qualifying, NCAA III National Championship and IOA Championship.
At Morongo's clubhouse, Tukwet Canyon Bar & Grill serves breakfast Friday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers are available until the grill closes at 4 p.m.
Nearby public schools are in the Beaumont Unified School District. Tournament Hills Elementary School has a B-plus grade from Niche, and Mountain View Middle School earns a B. Beaumont Senior High School receives a B-plus and is known for its performing arts program, with well-attended productions like Annie and The Wizard of Oz.
Among Fairway Canyon's parks, Niklaus Park is one of the largest and most popular, with a tot lot, disc golf and an off-leash area for dogs. The Cienega Canyon Preserve is just beyond the park grounds, and it has more than 350 acres of woodland, sage scrub and chaparral habitats. Rivers & Lands Conservancy offers volunteer activities to maintain the preserve, like weeding, tree watering and grassland seeding. The conservancy's events include an annual wildflower walk, scavenger hunts and an Earth Day celebration.
The Marketplace at Calimesa is the closest spot for shopping and dining. Fire Rock Burgers and Brews is a family -owned restaurant serving elevated bar bites and hosting regular live music events. There are fast-food chains, grocer Stater Bros. Markets and other businesses.
Beaumont's downtown is off Interstate 10, along 6th Street and Beaumont Avenue, for more shopping. Farther east, shopping centers on either side of I-10 have national brands and big-box stores.
Fairway Canyon is car-dependent and can feel secluded, but it adjoins I-10, so traveling north or south is convenient. It's about 30 miles to Riverside and 74 miles to Los Angeles. State Route 60 is close by and meets Interstate 215, about 20 miles west of Fairway Canyon. Via I-215 south, the trip to San Diego is about 95 miles.
Beaumont Transit buses run on fixed local routes and express regional service. Fairway Canyon has bus stops along Tukwet Canyon Parkway and Palmer Avenue. San Bernardino International Airport is 20 miles away, and Ontario International Airport is 36 miles away.
