Industry and suburban living coexist in Beckett Ridge
Situated at the industry-heavy northern edge of the Cincinnati metro area, Beckett Ridge offers easy access to both employment opportunities and to green, suburban living. “Beckett Ridge is very pretty; it’s a newer area, and it’s conveniently located," says Jennifer Fehr, a Realtor with Bastion Realtors and a lifelong Cincinnati-area resident. "There’s a lot of housing going up there, including apartments and condos, and the shopping scene is newer as well.” This community of over 9,000 residents is one of healthcare and manufacturing professionals, citybound commuters and workers who power the local retail scene. Distribution centers for companies like Amazon, Wayfair, Scholastic and Maersk form a minor city of their own at Beckett Ridge’s southern edge, while warrens of winding streets branch off from major boulevards and lead into tranquil residential areas. With Interstate 75 located along its southeastern frontier, local supermarkets and restaurants around every corner and outdoor recreation opportunities scattered throughout the neighborhood, suburban Beckett Ridge offers both convenience and quiet.
Midcentury and brand-new homes sit along Beckett Ridge's winding streets
Though Beckett Ridge may be a product of the 1970s, many of its homes were built as recently as the early 2020s. Condos sell for between $175,000 and $490,000, while the typical ranch-style sells for between $260,000 and $350,000. Larger New Traditional homes, many of them built in brick, vary in price from $350,000 to $800,000. Most of Beckett Ridge’s residences sit along winding side-streets branching off from major roads like Beckett Ridge Boulevard or Beckett Road. Houses tend to feature expansive yard sizes with ample space for gardening; thickets of trees separate residences and offer both privacy and shade. “You can get more for your money out that way, but it’s pretty high-end for a lot of the newer builds,” Fehr says.
Diverse dining and retail options surround this community
Princeton Glendale Road forms Beckett Ridge’s western border, while Union Centre Boulevard serves as its southern boundary; these roads double as major retail avenues. Princeton Glendale is home to the Beckett Commons shopping mall, where dining options include a sports bar with especially popular beef-and-noodles and pot-pie nights, a sushi bar and an Indian fusion restaurant. West Chester Road separates Beckett Ridge from the Chester Towne Centre and its many businesses. Here, an Irish pub, chain pizza and sandwich shops and the local Kroger supermarket share a much larger retail district.
Golfing and outdoor play sit just blocks from industry
Developed on farmland owned by the Beckett family during the early 19th century, Beckett Ridge continues to preserve pockets of greenery within its suburban expanse. The Beckett Ridge Golf Club, established in 1975, is just as old as the surrounding community. Long a private club, Beckett Ridge became open to the public in 2010 and doubles as a sporting venue and an events center. At the neighborhood’s southern edge, Beckett Park stretches along Beckett Road and includes picnic shelters, paved walking paths, a farm-themed playground and a baseball complex. The township’s park department is currently augmenting Beckett Park with a water play area to help kids cool off during humid summers. Beckett Ridge is also a short drive away from additional recreation opportunities; Fehr says, "It's not in Beckett Ridge, but the nearby Voice of America Park has country music festivals in the summer.” This 435-acre "MetroPark" brings country music legends like Carrie Underwood and Darius Rucker to the Cincinnati area every August, and it's less than 6 miles around the corner from home.
Students attend A-rated schools at Lakota Local School District
Beckett Ridge’s students may attend the schools of the Lakota Local School District, which receives an A rating from Niche. Both Lakota West and East High Schools receive A-minus ratings and recognition from Niche as being the two best high schools in Butler County. Lakota East offers biomedical sciences, College Credit Plus and diverse sports programs, providing its students with avenues in the career, college and athletics fields.
Community safety programs in Beckett Ridge
Beckett Ridge is served by the West Chester Township Police Department. While property and violent crimes are relatively rare in this community, the department keeps the peace through the provision of a Citizen Police Academy program and self-defense classes to members of the community.
Easy access to Cincinnati and other conveniences
Quick access to Interstate 75 puts Beckett Ridge just a 40-minute drive north of Cincinnati and 50 minutes north of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport across the Bluegrass State’s border. Beckett Ridge is also just 15 minutes from West Chester Hospital and the neighboring Christ Hospital Medical Center.
