Wide open spaces 20 miles outside Bozeman
Amsterdam-Churchill, about 20 miles from Bozeman and 10 miles from Belgrade, is surrounded by a sea of green farmland and is known as a popular place to settle down. “People move out here for a reason,” says DeeAnn Bos, a Broker with Berkshire Hathaway and Amsterdam-Churchill resident. “It’s a really special place to live. It’s not commercialized, and the lots tend to be larger. You have more wide-open spaces.” Amsterdam-Churchill began as a farming community that was originally worked by Dutch immigrants in the 1890s, and it is how the town got its name. Their history is remembered by a placard attached to a boulder on the lawn of the Manhattan Christian Reformed Church.
