Bellevue's growth and potential for even more development
On the outskirts of the Green Bay suburbs, Bellevue is all about potential and growth. While other villages like Allouez and Hobart can’t expand and instead have to redevelop, Bellevue still has swaths of farmland at its edge. “Bellevue has a lot of room for development,” says Green Bay native Alex Young, Realtor with Keller Williams Commercial. “A lot of it is farmland being converted into mixed-use developments, and you see a lot of new construction in this area.” As it grows, Bellevue has established itself as a shopping destination, offering restaurants and big supermarkets. “They’re got a lot of property down there that they’ve been building in the last three years,” Young says. “Your Costco, your Target — they’re making it a very large commercial area for shopping.”
Date-night bistros, local cafes and Bellevue's supermarkets
Bellevue already has plenty of restaurants, but the area isn’t finished developing. “That whole corridor right along the highway and Monroe Road is going to see a lot more restaurants,” Young says. For now, Plae Bistro is a high-end local favorite. Its name stands for: Place to Laugh And Eat. “If you’re looking for a nice date-night place, that’s where you’re going to go,” Young says. Grapevine Café has a homey feel with wooden furniture and paintings on the wall. The menu features breakfast items like French toast, omelets and a quiche du jour. Tuscon’s Southwest Grill and Bar offers a mix of Mexican and American, from street tacos and fajitas to cheese curds. Walmart, Target and Costco are in Bellevue, and Young says Costco, in particular, draws a lot of shoppers from the surrounding area.
New construction and condos are common in Bellevue
Trees in front yards hang over Bellevue’s ranch-style homes and split levels. Most yards are plain, with some gardens and flowers along the front façades. These homes typically range from $170,000 to $390,000. Compared to other areas of Green Bay where homes can date back to the turn of the century, Bellevue offers a good selection of new construction and more recent builds. Condos and New Traditional ranch-style homes built between the early 2000s and 2025 range from $420,000 to $630,000.
Green space from community parks to the East River Trail
Josten Park is Bellevue’s largest green space, spanning over 35 acres. People come for the baseball and soccer fields and the basketball, tennis and pickleball courts. There’s also a playground and a sledding hill in the winter when it gets snowy. Green Bay Country Club is a private course that also includes putting greens and golf simulators. Members can also access the pool and sports center. The East River serves as Bellevue’s western border, separating it from the neighboring village of Allouez. The East River Trail offers walking, jogging and biking along both sides of the water. Like many other villages in the Green Bay area, Bellevue can get significant snowfall in the winter. However, Bellevue doesn’t have a minimum accumulation before sending out the plows; instead, it aims to keep streets as clear as possible.
Bellevue's school pipelines split by Interstate 43
Students living west of Interstate 43 attend Langlade Elementary School, which receives a B-minus from Niche, followed by Washington Middle School, which receives a C. East High School also receives a B-minus and offers fine arts and automotive programs. Meanwhile, students on the east side of I-43 start at C-plus-rated McAuliffe Elementary School and graduate to C-rated Edison Middle School. Preble High School receives a B and offers nursing assistant and culinary arts programs.
The various thoroughfares through the village
Monroe Road is the main strip through Bellevue, but several other thoroughfares run through the community, including Wisconsin Route 172, U.S. Route 141 and I-43. Downtown Green Bay is about 5 miles away, and Aurora BayCare Medical Center is just under 3 miles. Across the river, Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport is about 10 miles.
Seasonal village events hosted at Josten Park
Josten Park hosts the village’s unique events. On Monday evenings in summer, Rockin’ In Josten is the village’s concert series. In addition to the music, people can also get concessions. On one Sunday in June and August, the Food Truck Rally brings out a wide selection of food trucks to Josten Park. In the fall, the Packers play home games out of Lambeau Field, about 7 miles from Bellevue. While many locals are ticketholders, many also just host tailgates on gamedays with family and friends.
