The city of Benbrook is home to over 1,000 acres of parkland across five developed parks and natural areas. Dutch Branch Park is the largest park in the city, at 408 acres, and includes baseball/softball fields, a golf driving range, a par three golf course, mini golf and batting cages. The park also has horse stables and offers equestrian rides. Locals can launch boats from the park’s marina onto Benbrook Lake, commonly used for boating, fishing and swimming. City events at Dutch Branch Park
The city of Benbrook comes together in September for the annual Trash Bash, where community members help clean up Dutch Branch Park. A month later, in October, is the Heritage Fest “Cowboy Roundup,” also at Dutch Branch Park. The event celebrates Western heritage with a variety of family-friendly activities. In December, the city’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Fireworks Show is held at Dutch Branch Park. The event is followed by a month-long light display as part of the city’s Winter Wonderland.
About 11 miles from Downtown Fort Worth
Interstate 820, Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 377 run through the city, providing direct routes to much of the Metroplex. Downtown Fort Worth is about 11 miles from Benbrook, while Downtown Dallas is about 40 miles away. The Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is about 30 miles away. The Trinity Metro Bus system offers service from Benbrook along Camp Bowie West Boulevard.
Benbrook crime and weather
“The average time for the police to be at your front door for a non-emergency phone call is less than 3 minutes,” Grays says. “Other areas are going to be 30-25 minutes.” According to the FBI Crime Data Explorer, violent crime has increased for the last five years, while property crime had decreased for seven consecutive years before an increase in 2023.
Benbrook is prone to tornados and wildfires and experiences extreme heat in the summer and mild winters.
