From the Illinois Prairie Path to the Berkeley Public Library StoryWalk

The old Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railroad route, which terminated in 1957, was reborn in recent years as the Illinois Prairie Path. The IPP is a 61-mile multiuse nature trail and the first proposed rail-to-trail conversion in the country. The trail crosses through Berkeley Park, meeting up with the Berkeley Public Library StoryWalk. This series of outdoor signs showcases pages from picture books and rotates every six to eight weeks. Or in July, you can enjoy the StoryWalk on your way to Music in the Park, a local concert series.
