Beverly is a residential New Jersey community close to the state line

On the shores of the Delaware River, Beverly is a New Jersey community that serves as a geographic midpoint between Trenton and Philadelphia. Residential streets make up much of Beverly but give way to the heavily wooded West Avenue Nature Trails along the river, and the city of Burlington is a short drive up the riverside. “Beverly is a small town,” says Trish Gesswein, the broker of record in New Jersey for Houwzer Inc. “The city of Burlington is right on the Delaware, too, and it’s really like one of those hidden gems. It’s very pretty down there; they have waterfront restaurants and good shopping.” The suburban atmosphere, combined with Beverly’s proximity to Burlington and near-equidistance to the two closest major cities, draws residents to the riverside community.

Just up the road, Blue Claw Crab House Restaurant & Eatery is a popular spot for seafood.
For a wider array of dining options, area residents often head about 10 miles southeast into Mount Holly, which has a downtown lined with local eateries. “There are amazing restaurants,” Gesswein says. “Kitchen87 has the best breakfast and lunch, you have some breweries there and a distillery and wine bar.” Shoppers often head to an ACME Markets or Aldi, each less than 3 miles from central Beverly, or the Anatolia Food Market for groceries.

Nearly equal distance from Trenton and Philadelphia

Beverly residents are similar distances from the two closest major cities. Philadelphia is about 18 miles southwest, while Trenton is around 17 miles northeast, depending on route. The closest on-ramp to Interstate 95 sits around 5 miles north across the Delaware River. “It’s very convenient,” Gesswein says. “There are a lot of major highways over there. It’s not too far from the New Jersey Turnpike, 295 and 130. It’s very easy to get to any major highway wherever you’re deciding to go.”
Drivers can access both the New Jersey Turnpike and Interstate 295 between 6 and 7 miles south of Beverly. NJ Transit buses make stops along Route 130 just outside of the community. The River Line train runs down Railroad Avenue, on the south boundary of Beverly, and is operated by NJ Transit and connects Trenton with Camden. Virtua Willingboro Hospital is around 3 miles from central Beverly.
