Spring Lake is an established neighborhood roughly 15 miles northeast of Birmingham. Springville Road library branch has more than books
The Springville Road Regional Branch Library is in the heart of Spring Lake and offers workshops, book clubs, toddler reading hours, arts and crafts, boardgame nights and much more. “We have a ‘Library of Things’ where clients can check out mobile hot spots, video games, even an automotive diagnostic tool to check what’s wrong with your car,” says library assistant Barry Crane. For some outdoor fun, the namesake Spring Lake sits in the western part of the neighborhood. It’s a common spot for neighborhood strolls and functions as a local fishing spot. At nearby Bradford Park, visitors have 165 acres to explore, which include playgrounds, tennis courts, picnic pavilions and a walking path.

Huffman has Academy of Architecture and Construction
Kids can attend Birmingham City Schools, starting with Huffman Academy, which receives a C-minus from Niche. Huffman Middle School also receives a C-minus. Huffman High School, another C-minus school, boasts the Academy of Architecture and Construction. Participating students are prepared for careers in disciplines like drafting design, electrical technology, carpentry, plumbing or masonry.
