A quiet golf course community
The homes of Fox Creek Country Club are more integrated into its prized golf course than built around it. The greens of The Den at Fox Creek are woven into the subdivisions splitting off from Fox Creek Road, and a walking trail encircles the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. “It’s the most challenging golf course in Bloomington by far,” says Mark Bowers, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Central Illinois Realtors. “And it’s beautiful. Bloomington Normal is lucky to have a course like that.” The course and its neighborhood sit on the southwest corner of Bloomington, less than three miles from Miller Park. While Fox Creek homes are less than five miles from downtown Bloomington, they offer a little space away from the excitement of the city.

“Big Twelve” Conference
Fox Creek Country Club students can attend one of two elementary schools offering kindergarten through 5th grade classes. West of the golf course, Fox Creek Elementary School earns a B-minus. To the east, Pepper Ridge Elementary School earns a B-plus. For grades 6 through 8, students can attend Parkside Junior High School, which earns a B. At A-rated Normal Community High School, students can play football and other major sports as part of Illinois’ “Big Twelve” Conference. The conference consists of eleven schools in the Illinois High School Association. Five miles northeast of Fox Creek, students can earn a post-secondary education at Illinois Wesleyan University.

An Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course
The Den at Fox Creek is the third golf course built in Bloomington, opening in August of 1997. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay and is listed in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play,” earning 4.5 stars. The course features 131 sand traps and water hazards on 9 of its 18 holes. “People come from all around to play The Den,” Bowers says. “The homes and communities built around it make it super sharp.” Resident baseball teams practice and play at Pepper Ridge Park on Fox Creek Road, while soccer teams head to SK Nord Fields on North Road. Three miles northeast of Fox Creek, Miller Park holds a zoo, a large playground and a lake around which residents can walk.
Some of the best fishing around is available at Miller Park.

Great restaurants a short drive away
Shopping and dining aren’t far from Fox Creek, Bowers says, but reaching places will take a five-minute drive instead of a short walk. Casey’s General Store sits two miles east of Fox Creek and offers snacks as well as hot food like pizza and wings. Three and a half miles east of the neighborhood, Tony’s Diner serves sandwiches and salads and earns 4.5 stars with more than 1,200 reviews on Google Maps. Home cooks looking for fresh produce have an ALDI and a Walmart Supercenter 5 miles north of Fox Creek.

A plethora of housing options
Home designs are fairly standard throughout Fox Creek, but the neighborhood offers a range of styles from two-story condos and townhomes to ranch-style and two-story traditional homes. Bowers says lot sizes are a little larger than other areas of Bloomington, and the median lot size is just over a quarter acre. “There are also varying price points throughout the different subdivisions,” Bowers says. Condos and townhomes range from $145,000 to $375,000, while single-family homes typically sell between $300,000 and $625,000. The median home price is $410,000, up 2% from the previous year.

Convenience for walkers and drivers
With the network of trails surrounding the golf course and sidewalks lining the neighborhood’s streets, Fox Creek gives walkers plenty of space to roam. Back roads around Fox Creek place restaurants and shops within five miles of the neighborhood, but Interstates 55 and 74 run along the eastern edge of the neighborhood and give drivers easy access to the nation’s network of highways. The interstates put downtown Chicago 140 miles away and Downtown Indianapolis 170 miles away.
Downtown Bloomington events
With downtown Bloomington sitting less than five miles northeast of Fox Creek, residents aren’t far from the city’s events. Bruegala, the city’s most famous beer festival, features local food trucks, live music, games and beer. The city also hosts popular holiday events like the Doggie Easter Egg Hunt and the December Holiday Parade.
