Resort-style living in Lotus
Before residents enter the quiet Lotus community, they are greeted by a large, elevated water fountain and manicured grounds with palm trees. Like surrounding subdivisions, the resort-style community has 24-hour security at the main entrance. "Lotus is somewhat less pricey than [nearby developments like Boca Bridges]. People will look here if they are searching for newer construction in a great community," says Roberto Cortina, a Boca Raton resident and real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate. Every home in Lotus has a backyard view of a pond, and residents can access private amenities at the clubhouse
A secluded community of 525 residences by GL Homes
The developer GL Homes constructed each house within the private subdivision. The community features houses built from 2019 to 2023. "The homes are contemporary and minimalist. There are home models that offer different configurations," Cortina says. Overall, the private neighborhood includes about 525 residences planted on lots a quarter of an acre in size or smaller. Properties show trimmed front lawns; many have backyard saltwater pools and spas. The development includes single- and two-story dwellings with attached multi-car garages. Houses range in price from about $1.3 million to $2.7 million.
Attending highly rated Palm Beach County schools
Cortina says the community is close to highly rated schools. Families may apply for school choice options within the School District of Palm Beach County. However, Lotus is zoned for Whispering Pines Elementary and Eagles Landing Middle; both schools have A-minus grades from Niche. The A-rated Olympic Heights Community High ranks among the top public high schools in the county on Niche. Parents may also choose nearby private options, like Divine Savior Academy; the school accepts prekindergarten to seventh-grade students.
Fun inside the community or nearby at the county park
The Lotus clubhouse provides a nearly 30,000 square foot building for recreation. The space has multiple hard surface courts for tennis and pickleball. There is also a resort-style pool and yoga garden. Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park is a premier public space for outdoor recreation, about 5 miles away. The large green space is home to the Daggerwing Nature Center, which includes a butterfly garden and a wooden boardwalk leading through verdant marshes. Park visitors also head to Sunset Cove to launch boats into the water on lazy afternoons. The beachfront awaits 10 miles to the east.
Businesses along Atlantic Avenue and Glades Road
Locals leave the neighborhood for shopping destinations off Atlantic Avenue and Glades Road. There's a Publix location inside Delray Marketplace, roughly 5 miles north. The shops and boutiques inside Town Center at Boca Raton are about 7 miles south. The retail hub contains luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and CHANEL. Lotus residents can eat five days a week at The Luna Bistro inside the clubhouse. "There are great restaurants nearby, like Warren Delray," Cortina says. He adds that eastern Boca Raton, about a mile away, offers more popular restaurants like La Nouvelle Maison and Trattoria Romana.
Taking Lyons Road, Atlantic Avenue and the Turnpike to nearby spots
A PalmTran bus stop stands about 2 miles away on Lyons Road; however, residents typically travel by car. Drivers can access the community along the private entrance off Lyons Road. The nearest interchange to the Florida Turnpike is less than 5 miles from most homes via Atlantic Avenue. West Boca Medical Center provides 24-hour emergency services approximately 6 miles to the south. Downtown Boca Raton is about a 12-mile drive from the neighborhood. Palm Beach International Airport is around 28 miles away.
The area has a low crime score and a risk of hurricanes
The region is prone to severe weather conditions like tropical storms and hurricanes. The community is in a FEMA Flood Zone X, meaning the area has a low chance of flooding. However, Boca Raton and nearby Delray Beach have experienced flooding.
Lotus's CAP Index Crime Score is 1 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
