New homes and older neighborhoods

The median price is about $324,000. “There’s a ton of new construction,” Campbell says. But there are also more established neighborhoods with large, wooded lots, including around the area’s many lakes. Styles include traditional homes, cottages and ranch-style houses. Most of the neighborhoods’ narrow streets have no sidewalks. There is also much room for development in the town and many plots of land are for sale.

Water aerobics and summer concerts at the lakes

The community has five public swimming beaches. “Right now the big lake does not have water in it,” Campbell says. The area was hit by a storm and repairs are ongoing, with expected completion in 2027. But Spring Lake Park is open and has a swimming beach. The park offers water aerobics classes and hosts a free summer concert series on Fridays. Other public beaches include those at Mirror Lake and Seminole Lake. Robert G. Muse Memorial Park has a playground. The Lakes Golf Club is a public golf course.
