Bayside homes and boating opportunities in Bowleys Quarters
Bowleys Quarters is a quaint suburban peninsula bordered by creeks and rivers branching off the Chesapeake Bay. There are many waterfront homes with private docks, and residents can also rent slips at local marinas to take boats out to fish and cruise on Middle River. “Most buyers appreciate that it’s a waterfront community with access to Baltimore along most of the major routes,” says Tanya Lewis, a real estate agent with Cummings & Co. Commercial, LLC, with over 20 years of experience serving the Greater Baltimore area. “It’s also a quiet area with bars and restaurants spread out along the peninsula.” U.S. Route 40 and the bustling Interstate 95 are a couple of miles north of Bowleys Quarters, and commuters can reach Baltimore in half an hour.
Waterfront homes, townhouses and smaller single-family properties
Popular home styles in Bowleys Quarters include Cape Cods, ramblers and Colonial Revivals along narrow, tree-dotted residential roads. Home prices run from $220,000 to $1.1 million, varying by square footage, lot size and location. Prices usually start around $500,000 for waterfront homes, which often feature docks and boat lifts. “The docks are deep enough for pontoon boats and fishing boats, kayaks and paddleboards, but not so much for yachts,” says Lewis. “There are also some subdivisions that aren’t on the water.” Subdivisions like Carrollwood Manor sit away from the creeks and feature rows of townhouses, which tend to be the most affordable options in the area. The community faces a severe flood risk due to storm surges from the bay, and many residents purchase flood insurance.
Bowleys Marina memberships and swimming at Miami Beach Park
Members of Bowleys Marina can access the playground, gazebos and charcoal grills for social gatherings, and members can refuel private boats at the fuel dock. Miami Beach Park offers a playground, swimming beach and kayak rentals and is a popular spot to picnic or fish in the Middle River. Bengies Drive-In Theatre is along Eastern Boulevard, where visitors can watch hit movies and grab food from the snack bar. Eastern Regional Park is north of the community and has lighted ball fields and baseball diamonds, an indoor gym, and paved walking paths.

Commuters can take US-40 to Baltimore, 14 miles away, a trip that takes around half an hour, depending on traffic. The city is also home to Baltimore/Washington International Airport, a major regional travel hub. North of the community, there’s also the bustling I-95, which connects major cities along the East Coast.
