Pipers Glen blends quiet living with active community perks
Jam-packed with luxurious facilities and amenities, the gated subdivisions of Pipers Glen are set in Westchester Country Club’s lush rolling hills. While it teeters the border between unincorporated Boynton Beach and unincorporated Delray Beach, Pipers Glen is largely considered to be a part of the up-and-coming Boynton Beach. "It's more peaceful when you come out west," says Gregory Feit, a local Realtor with United Realty Group and a Pipers Glen Estates resident. "It's a lot quieter, life's slower, and it's safer. There are always people at the tennis courts, people walking their dogs. Holidays are really fun. We do lots of cool things for Halloween. In my neighborhood, we have a guy who fills his pickup truck with hay every year to give the kids hay rides." There are various subdivisions throughout Pipers Glen. For example, there's Pipers Glen Estates, which mainly comprises three-bedroom, single-family homes with two to three bathrooms; there's the expansive Coral Lakes community, which boasts a plethora of its own gated subdivisions and a private sports center for its residents to enjoy; there are the town houses and condominiums of Green Cay Village; and there are several 55-plus communities, such as San Marco.
Golf, wetlands and gardens offer scenic ways to stay active
Westchester Country Club is the glue that ties all of Pipers Glen's communities together, providing every resident with scenic commutes to and from home. Its 27 holes are spread across three courses, designed by world-renowned golf course architect Karl Litton. "There's a lot to do outdoors around here," says Gregory Feit. "We have the Green Cay Wetlands down the road. The Loxahatchee National Refuge and the Morikami Japanese Gardens are nearby, too." Tucked into the southwest corner of Pipers Glen, the Green Cay Nature Center and Wetlands span 100 acres with a 1.5-mile boardwalk that gives ample opportunity to observe the unique flora and fauna that inhabit a Floridian wetland ecosystem.
Single-family homes and condos suit a range of budgets
While no two of the many Pipers Glen subcommunities are the same, there are some trending characteristics, like HOA management and, most saliently, architecture. Spanish eclectic architecture is the predominant style of the area, adorning stucco-sided homes with classic arches, earthy tones and terracotta barrel-roof tiles. Market prices for single-family houses range from the high $500,000s to just over $1 million. With the $600,000s, homebuyers can land a three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom, 2,569-square-foot single-story home with a two-car garage. As for multifamily properties, market prices start around the mid-$200,000s and softly cap in the mid-$400,000s.
Essentials and eateries are right up the road from home
Shopping and dining options are right up Jog Road at a new shopping plaza, featuring Publix and other familiar chains.
Centrally located between major roads for easy commuting
Pipers Glen sits between Florida's Turnpike and South Military Trail, so commuting north or south is a breeze. The area isn't too far from trendy strips and beaches either, with Boynton Beach's burgeoning downtown only 15 minutes away and Delray Beach's sandy stretches just 20 minutes away.
Local schools include A-plus-rated Spanish River High

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
