Valencia Bay offer custom GL Homes houses and resort-style amenities
The upscale 55-plus community of Valencia Bay offers resort-style amenities and custom homes to residents looking for a vacation vibe in their everyday lives. This community, built by GL Homes, is one of the smaller options of its type, clocking in at just under 600 homes. While the houses are the draw, pickleball leagues, theater clubs and singles clubs often seal the deal. “You can do as much or as little as you want,” says Debra Simon, Realtor with The Keyes Company who sells throughout South Palm Beach County and lives in a neighboring Valencia neighborhood. “It’s a total and complete lifestyle change.”
Mediterranean style homes on manicured lawns
Homes here are contemporary Mediterranean style, with three or four bedrooms. They sit close together on meticulously maintained lawns – paid for by HOA fees – and offer two-car garages in front and patios and pools out back. Homes often back up to one of the many man-made lakes throughout the community. Prices range from around $850,000 to $1.6 million, with higher-priced homes featuring upgrades like gourmet kitchens, central vacuum systems, and hurricane protection. Boynton Beach is vulnerable to hurricanes. Regarding crime, the neighborhood features a gate manned by security 24 hours a day and a 1 out of 10 on the CAP Index, lower than the national average of 4.

The clubhouse is as active as the community's residents
The clubhouse sits near the center of the neighborhood and is always a hub of activity. The 33,000-square-foot facility features resort-style amenities, including a pool with cabanas, pickleball courts, an indoor fitness room with personal trainers and a dedicated yoga studio. The clubhouse also offers rooms for billiards, arts and crafts, and cards. Simon says the facility is one of the main highlights of the community for many residents. “They don’t have to go looking for activities. They’re all right there in the community.” While there isn’t a golf course within the neighborhood, many are in the surrounding area. The closest is Westchester Country Club, about 8 miles away.

Dining at The Bay Cafe and entertainment in the clubhouse ballroom
The clubhouse is home to The Bay Café, which serves breakfast or lunch. Its ballroom hosts regular cocktail parties and movie nights. Simon says the clubhouse also offers concerts and stand-up comedy from well-known performers. “Each Valencia community has its own entertainment committee. And because of that, they go out and look at showcases and hire the talent they think their community would like best,” she says. Residents also dine out along Boynton Beach Boulevard, a few miles from the neighborhood. The busy roadway is lined with chain and local restaurants, including Nicoletta’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, a casual spot featuring Italian classics. Boynton Beach Mall and Boynton Town Center are about 10 miles away and offer big-box stores like Macy’s and Target.
