But Talya Lerman, a Realtor with The Keyes Company and native of South Florida who sells throughout the region, says that’s not the only reason residents love this 55-plus community; they appreciate how it helps them stay connected. “Older adults today really want to stay active and engaged,” she says. “It’s not just about the luxury of the homes and amenities. It’s about the social aspect.” Valencia neighborhoods center around clubhouses, where residents can exercise, play games, enjoy live entertainment and share meals. That, combined with the community’s many social clubs, means there’s always something fun to do.

Custom homes with upscale add-ons sit on manicured lawns
Homes in Valencia Reserve are custom contemporary with Mediterranean influences, built between 2009 and 2013. Smaller homes feature two or three bedrooms and range from around $500,000 to $700,000, and larger homes with three or four bedrooms range from $700,000 to $1.2 million. The homes closer to $1 million often feature upscale upgrades like gourmet kitchens and backyard pools. The HOA meticulously maintains front lawns and all public outdoor spaces, a feature that Lerman says many residents appreciate. “People care a lot about the maintained grounds. They’ve worked hard all their lives and want to be surrounded by natural beauty that’s well taken care of,” she says. Many homes back up to the community’s lakes, giving residents water views. Windows are often impact-resistant due to Boynton Beach’s vulnerability to hurricanes. Regarding crime, the neighborhood features a guard gate manned by security 24 hours a day and a 1 out of 10 rating on the CAP Index, three points lower than the national average.

The community's clubhouse is a hub of fitness and socializing
The neighborhood’s main attraction is its 41,000-square-foot clubhouse, which features pickleball and tennis courts, bocce and several pools. Inside is a fitness center and dedicated rooms for billiards, cards and arts and crafts. In 2024, residents voted overwhelmingly to approve a $9.3 million refresh for the 13-year-old facility, one of the most expensive renovation projects in Palm Beach County at a non-golf course community. As Valencia Reserve is not a golf course community, golfers must head outside the neighborhood to play. However, many courses are nearby. One of the closest is the private Indian Springs Country Club, which is about 6 miles away and offers golf, tennis and regular events.

About 10 miles away, Boynton Beach Mall and Boynton Town Center offer shopping at popular retailers like Target and Macy’s. For entertainment, residents take advantage of the clubhouse’s regular social events, concerts and standup comedy.
