100-year-old homes near Downtown Bozeman

Two blocks from the traffic lights and storefronts of downtown Bozeman, trees, 100-year-old homes and green lawns define the streets of Bogert Park. “People like being close to downtown and live in those 1900’s historical homes,” says Ryan Martello, a Realtor with Realty ONE Group Peak. Bogert Park is part of the Lindley Place Historic District, where remodeling properties requires approval from the city, and adherence to these guidelines ensures the character of the area. The neighborhood is also within walking distance of two popular parks.

Spots to shop, eat, and enjoy nightlife

Downtown Bozeman, the city’s bustling shopping and dining district, is next door. Brigade is a favorite for brunch and happy hour. A seat on the second floor is particularly popular on a warm summer day, where patrons can see the mountains in the distance. Copper Whisky Bar, with its dim lighting and warm wood décor, is one of the spots where Bozeman’s nightlife bursts into reality. Montana Ale Works, which has over 35 beers on draft, is often full of activity on weeknights and Saturday afternoons. Bozeman Co-Op offers groceries and a lunch bar. People shop for new clothes at Head West and grab outdoor gear at Schnee’s. Ghost Town Coffee Roasters is a favorite for early risers around the neighborhood. A few blocks from West Main Street, the small shop is an out-of-the-way spot that’s not too crowded and serves highly rated roasts and cold brew.

Neighborhood parks and trails close to home

The neighborhood's namesake greenspace, Bogert Park, has enough to keep residents busy throughout the year. There’s an ice rink, pool and a bandshell for live music. Bozeman also keeps up with the latest sports trends, and the park has a pickleball court. Peets Hill and Burke Park are next to the neighborhood and have plenty of hiking trails and sledding routes when snow hits the ground. The neighborhood has a special connection to the city’s art world through the Bozeman Sculpture Park. Work from artists across Bozeman and the Gallatin Valley is displayed and rotates throughout the year. The “M” is one of Bozeman’s most iconic hiking spots. “Hiking the ‘M’ is a very Bozeman thing to do,” says Martello. The trail, located about five miles from Bogert Park, leads to a massive arrangement of rocks laid out in an “M” formation that’s visible from downtown Bozeman and even from Google Maps satellite view.

100-year-old homes along tree lined streets

Historic homes and new construction houses range between $1.5 million to $1.75 million and include contemporary, craftsmen, and chalet styles. The neighborhood’s streets are characterized by manicured lawns with trees growing along the sidewalk. The area’s historic homes tend to be from the 19th and 20th centuries. Remodeling these older homes requires approval from the city, and homebuyers can't heavily change the exterior. Condos along Main Street sell for $700,000 to $850,000.
