Shopping, recreation and new development define North Branson
North Branson is considered a newer part of a small city known for its lakes, shopping and entertainment that draw in 10 million tourists annually. “It’s kind of our hot new area,” says Parker Stone, a Realtor who grew up here and works for Keller Williams Tri-Lakes. “Everything is developing north because everything south is already developed.” Outside of having newer homes, and more land to build on, North Branson also captures much of what the city is known for through its robust recreation and shopping. Despite being a “hot spot,” North Branson is removed from the touristy areas, such as the Branson Strip entertainment district and Branson’s lakes, while being a short drive from them. It offers a mix of communities that meet different lifestyles, including one that wraps around its local golf course.

Curvy roads connect traditional and luxury homes
Tract homes in the neo-traditional style, custom builds and ranch styles have a foothold here. Subdivisions and communities spread out across North Branson, ranging from traditionally suburban to gated. “We have all of these curvy, hilly roads that everyone gets around on, and they drop down into a master planned community, but that’s just one community,” Stone says. “You might drive 3 miles before you hit another one.” Most demand for housing comes from buyers looking to live in upscale areas such as Branson Hills, a gated golf course community. Higher-end homes tend to range from around $500,000 to $1.1 million. Modest properties range from approximately $190,000 to $480,000. Villas and condos are also available, starting at about $150,000 to $350,000, and rising to $650,000 for added square footage and amenities.

From Moonshine Beach to mountain biking
Branson’s shopping and entertainment scene is balanced by robust outdoor recreation. “We have some of the best chain of lake systems here. A lot of golf, we’re a golf destination,” Stone says. “We have a lot of floating rivers close by, lots of hiking, and we’re also known for mountain bike trails.” North Branson supports local golf enthusiasts with a public course and driving range, as well as athletic fields. Nearby marinas and boat ramps accommodate water activities. Moonshine Beach, roughly 10 miles away, is a popular place to lounge on the sand but sometimes closes due to flooding.

Live shows, museums and Silver Dollar City fuel tourism
Branson is known for its entertainment scene. “Yakov is a world-renowned comedian. He lives here in Branson and has a show here. He was just on Jimmy Fallon,” White says. She adds that entertainers often support the community in various ways, such as serving in nonprofits or at the city level. “And it’s not uncommon to go to dinner and have one sitting right next to you and striking up a conversation with you.” One of the city’s busiest zones is the Branson Strip, which features attractions including the Clay Cooper Theatre for live music and the Hollywood Wax Museum. The 1880s-themed amusement park Silver Dollar City is about 10 miles away.
