An older, industrial community just north of Downtown Pensacola
Brent is a census designated place immediately north of Downtown Pensacola. U.S. Highway 29 cuts through the heart of the community and “turns into Palafox Street, which has a ton of cute little shops and restaurants and local art galleries,” says Pamela Heinold, a local Realtor with eXp Realty. Brent isn’t historic like the downtown district, but most of the homes here are nearly 75 years old. “Because it’s older,” Heinold says, “you won’t find many organized subdivisions or HOA communities.”
Along with central highways and residential blocks, Brent is home to several major employers. “Baptist Hospital just opened on Brent Lane in 2023, right across from Pensacola Christian College,” Heinold says. Dozens of manufacturers cluster around Palafox Industrial Park, just east of Brent.
