Diverse community that’s home to Montefiore Medical Center and green space
Norwood may not sound familiar, but this diverse, residential section in north central Bronx - and adjacent to the Westchester suburbs - is home to the world-renowned Montefiore Medical Center Campus. As a result, some hospital employees, including doctors, nurses and hospital administrators, live here, according to Geoff Weiss, a licensed associate real estate broker with Compass. The neighborhood surrounds historic Williamsbridge Oval Park, while also being surrounded on three sides by Mosholu Parkway, Van Cortlandt Park and Bronx Park, with the famed New York Botanical Gardens just beyond.Aaron Kass, a licensed real estate agent who works with Weiss, adds that the Bronx has more green space than all the other boroughs. And while Norwood might be the end of the D and 4 lines, there’s also a MetroNorth station, making this lower-priced neighborhood readily accessible.
