Willow Lane
A mix of single-family homes and townhouses
Willow Lane's grassy lawns stretch to the curb, shaded by oak, maple and the occasional spruce trees. Most of the neighborhood is made up of mid-20th-century properties. “The homes in that area, they all look nice,” Jass says. There is a mix of ranch styles and split-levels, many with hip or gable roofs that let snow easily roll off. The northern part of the neighborhood consists primarily of townhouses. Single-family homes typically fall between $250,000 and $325,000, while townhouses range from $190,000 to $250,000. “I’ve been selling condos and townhouses in that area for a while, and these prices seem fairly average,” Jass says.Willow Lane, like the rest of Brooklyn Center, experiences snow-filled winters. The annual snowfall is about 59 inches. Plows clear the streets after 2 and a half inches of snowfall, and residents are encouraged to wait until the roads are clear to shovel their driveways. Properties near Shingle Creek are at risk of flooding, so flood insurance is required by most private and all federally backed mortgage lenders.
