All the perks of NYC, but in a nearly suburban neighborhood

Madison offers a distinctly peaceful atmosphere compared to nearby neighborhoods. While Flatbush and surrounding locations boast commercial establishments and entertainment options, Madison maintains its residential, almost suburban charm with sculpted hedges, topiaries and lush trees. The neighborhood's Northern boundary along Kings Highway remains home to one of the city's oldest landmarks, the Wyckoff-Bennett Homestead – a Dutch Colonial home built by Henry and Abraham Wyckoff in 1766. By far, Madison has more space than other neighborhoods in Brooklyn, but with all the convenience of busier locales. Residents have space for a car but don't need to be in a car all the time. Madison is blocks away from the hustle and bustle of Sheepshead Bay; a hop, skip and a jump away from all the action.

Affordable single and multifamily homes in Madison

The neighborhood's northern end is well-known for the Spanish-style terrace homes lining its tree-shaded streets, often with stucco or brick exteriors and Spanish tile roofs. Colonial-style and Tudor homes are more common in other parts of the neighborhood. Unlike Midwood and the remainder of Sheepshead Bay, Madison lacks apartment complexes, consisting almost entirely of single-family homes, with a few two-family homes thrown in. This adds to its quiet, tranquil atmosphere. The price range for a one- to three-bedroom condo is typically from $500,000 to $1 million, while multi-family homes can be found from around $1 to $1.5 million.

With close proximity to the mall Kings Plaza Shopping Center, residents have access to national chain retailers like Adidas, Sephora and H&M, as well as fast food staples including Chipotle, Shake Shack and Dunkin' Donuts. For groceries, residents can shop at nearby big-box markets like ALDI and Stop & Shop.
