Neighborhood parks and proximity to Rush Creek Regional Trail
Located on the northern side of Brooklyn Park, Founders looks like a typical community found on this side of town. Along with its homes built in the last 20 years, the neighborhood also offers many parks, including its namesake park. “When they developed Brooklyn Park, they made it so you can go two or three blocks and there’s a park,” says real estate agent Jeffrey Gagnon with J.C. Gagnon Realty and 40-year Brooklyn Park resident. Along with the neighborhood located throughout Founders, Rush Creek Regional Trail also runs along the northern side of the community, offering another way for residents to get outside. Combined with the shopping centers with chain food joints and nearby grocery stores, residents in Founders have access to amenities while maintaining a quiet suburban feeling at the heart of the community. CAP Index Score gives the community a 1 out of 10 for overall crime, compared to the national average of 4.

Various amenities and experiences offered at Founders's parks
Founders Park might share its name with the community, but it is just a neighborhood park offering a playground, baseball diamond and half basketball court. Noble Sports Park shares its grounds with one of the elementary schools and includes four baseball diamonds, a soccer field and basketball and tennis courts. Rush Creek Regional Trail stretches for almost 10 miles across northern Brooklyn Park, where people can walk or bike along the paved trail. “We’ve had a couple of dogs, and there’s a whole dog community that walks on the trails, so anyone who has a dog will stop when they see each other out,” Gagnon says. “And lots of biking groups that head out onto the trails together.” The trail leads to Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, which offers more hiking and biking opportunities as well as fishing.

In the summers, Founders can join the rest of Brooklyn Park for annual festivals. Jazz in July draws people out to the lawn at the Community Activity Center, where they can set up their chairs and picnic blankets to listen to the music. The Tater Daze Parade and Community Gathering in late May starts with a parade and ends with concerts and food trucks at the activity center.
