Meet the neighbors in Brookside Village

Driving past Brookside Village from the highway brings views of oaks and telephone lines, offering a mix of rural and suburban living. About 20 miles from H-town, Brookside Village is a small town of around 1,500 – but it's big on personality, home sizes and top-notch education. Despite its small population, Brookside Village offers more opportunities for land than surrounding communities while still being under 5 miles from Pearland for access to many shopping, dining, and family-friendly activities. "Brookside's small size and rural feel attract more independent thinking, self-sufficient people who enjoy living on their large lots and doing things for themselves," says Kristen Stewart, a reference librarian at the local Tom Reid Library. Community Locals organized Informed Brookside Village Citizens, hosting monthly potlucks with guest speakers and fostering a neighborly and engaging atmosphere.

Spend the weekend at Cole’s Antique Village & Flea Market

Texas would only be Texas with showcasing the best barbecue around. Eight-time winner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's World's Championship Bar-B-Que contest, Brookside Village's Holy Cow Cookers is famous for its smoked meats and homemade sauce. For quick conveniences, Brookside Grocery on Brookside Road is the community corner store, and while they don't have everything, Dollar General is a few doors down, and Kroger is 3 miles south. Pearland Town Center is 6 miles southwest for big box shopping, but Cole's Antique Village & Flea Market is the real star for shopping. Many Brazoria County residents grew up coming to the market on weekends with families, snacking on cups of elote while walking around to visit each vendor, along with taco trucks outside.
