Anthem offers peaceful suburban living in Broomfield

Anthem is a suburban neighborhood in the northern part of Broomfield, a rapidly-growing city in North Central Colorado. Families are drawn to the area for the subdivision communities that come with pocket parks and planned landscaping, and major highways such as Interstate 25 are close by for those who commute for work. In addition, these master-planned associations often provide residents with recreational amenities and social opportunities, which let people build friendships and cultivate a sense of community and belonging. “This is a nice family-centered community with an extremely convenient location,” says Claire Gilmore, a Realtor at MB KELL & COMPANY with over 20 years of experience. “It’s close to places like Boulder, Denver and Erie. There are good open spaces and great schools. It has all the things that are important to people for living a good suburban life.” The community has a CAP Index score of 1 out of 10, which is lower than the national average of 4.

Subdivision communities with homeowner associations in Anthem

The area is home to several subdivision communities. Anthem Ranch is a 55-plus active adult community with mostly single-story ranch-style homes. Houses typically fall between approximately $650,000 and $1.1 million in New Traditional or Mediterranean Revival styles, and many have large decks in the backyard to enjoy the sun. Properties with mountain views can go from $1.2 million to $1.8 million. Anthem Highlands properties fall into a similar price range, with two-story New Traditional homes with contemporary or Mediterranean influences. Baseline offers a mix of single-family and townhouses, each priced between $700,000 and $830,000, and $450,000 and $650,000. Each of these master-planned communities has monthly association fees, recreational amenities and community associations that organize socials and events for residents. “Life is ever-changing, and we have homes for different stages of life,” Gilmore says. “Many people start out with their first homes and then move to a bigger house to raise kids or eventually downsize once they retire. I have clients who’ll buy many homes from me throughout the years, and the houses are all in Broomfield because they don’t want to leave, and it’s just such a nice community.”

Public school districts in Anthem

The neighborhood is home to Thunder Vista P-8, which is part of Adams 12 Five Star Schools. “It’s one of the newer schools in the community,” Gilmore says. Prospective high schools include Erie High School, which is part of St. Vrain Valley School District, and Legacy High School. Legacy High offers career pathway programs in business and marketing, digital technologies, hospitality, design and education. All three schools have an A-minus grade from Niche. Private school options include Vista Ridge Academy, which does not have a Niche score, and the A-rated Holy Family High School.

Outdoor opportunities in North Broomfield

Located by Siena Reservoir, Anthem Community Park anchors the neighborhood with soccer fields, a pump track and a biking trail that loops around the lake. Additional pocket parks such as Soaring Eagle Park and Anthem Field are scattered across the community, providing playgrounds, open green spaces and walking trails for residents. Directly west of the area, Flaggy Park is connected to the 3.3-mile Coal Creek Trail, and the 18-hole course at Colorado National Golf Club is open to the public.

Shopping and dining options along East Baseline Road

Overlooking Boulder County, Acreage by Stem Ciders serves farm-to-table pub fare with quality cider crafted by the owners. The business also offers many events like music bingo nights and outdoor yoga classes in the summer. Other establishments are along East Baseline Road, including the Lazy Dog Sports Bar and Grill. Costco and King Soopers Marketplace are several blocks away, and FlatIron Crossing, the city’s premier shopping mall with over 200 retailers, is about 10 miles southwest of the community.

Distance to Boulder and Denver

The community is between Colorado state Highway 7 and Northwest Parkway, and Interstate 25 is east of the area. Convenient for commuters who work in nearby cities, Boulder is 15 miles west of Anthem, and Denver is 20 miles north. St Anthony North Hospital is 5 miles away, and Denver International Airport is about 25 miles east. Public transit is serviced by the Regional Transportation District.

Events and festivals in Broomfield

Broomfield Days is one of the largest festivals in the city. The event takes place in September and has a parade, games and live entertainment. Offering tasting opportunities from local restaurants and breweries, the Broomfield Area Bites & Brews Festival happens in the summer and is organized by the Broomfield Area Chamber.
