At sunset in Country Vista, you can stand in a wide-open field, take a deep breath and see nothing but grass and evening sky. With its pastures, paved walkways and quiet cul-de-sac streets, this Broomfield neighborhood offers residents a level of peace that’s hard to find. Natural beauty is the big draw here. Kids play little league games, scale the playground and swing on the swings, and neighbors of all ages walk down the paved pathways toward a big community park with a pool and an amphitheater. You’ll see people walking their dogs, RVs parked in the driveways and people shooting hoops in front of their houses. But even though Country Vista is peaceful and quiet, it’s also at the center of Broomfield, right next to big-box stores selling all the essentials of daily life. “We moved to Broomfield initially because my husband worked here, and then we had our three boys attend the excellent public schools,” says Sarah Hertzenberg, a Realtor with Compass and Broomfield resident for two decades. “He later got a job in downtown Denver, and we could have moved but we decided to stay because we love the people here.”

Winding, enclosed residential streets ending in cul-de-sacs are the norm in Country Vista. The neighborhood came online in the 1990s. Craftsman-style homes, three-level houses for roughly $650,000, traditional-style homes for about $580,000 and contemporary homes for about $730,000 are typical. From anywhere in the neighborhood, you can walk to Country Vista Park, a community gathering spot for baseball games and kids’ playdates. Walk eastward along the tan paved pathways at the park and eventually, you will end up at Broomfield Community Park, the central outdoor gathering space for the entire town. “Broomfield has designated areas in the city and the county for open space to make sure there’s natural space everywhere,” Hertzenberg says. “A lot of the other suburbs don’t have as expansive of trail systems.” Swim in the community pool, enjoy an evening concert at the park’s amphitheater and after the sun goes down, stroll over to the park’s big grassy field to count the stars in the sky. In the summertime, Bay Aquatic Park is full of excited children and their parents plunging down water slides and cooling off. All year round, visit the Broomfield Library for baby story time, book groups and knitting club.

All the amenities of modern life are in Country Vista. In minutes, you can shop for Windex or Tostitos at Walmart, kale at Whole Foods or a new pair of pumps at Kohl’s. Work out at Chuze Fitness and treat yourself to a latte and a croissant at Ziggi’s Coffee when finished. When you’re craving a quick, reliable bite, Country Vista has IHOP for pancakes, CAVA for grain bowls and Chick-fil-A for a milkshake and a crispy chicken sandwich. Fresh brews are on tap at Wonderland Brewing, a small-batch brewery with arcade games and cornhole boards. Kids and dogs are always welcome at Wonderland, which also has an on-site restaurant serving burgers and wings.

Country Vista falls within the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district, a highly rated school system with a B-plus from Niche. Mountain View Elementary School is in Country Vista, and it has a B Niche rating. Kids move on to Westlake Middle School for grades 6-8 and to Legacy High School, which has a marching band that has won several statewide competitions. The high school has an A-minus rating from Niche, and the middle school is rated B-plus.

Located 15 miles from Denver and Boulder, Country Vista is a great commuter neighborhood. Highways like Interstate 25 and Interstate 70 are just minutes away. With its convenient location, open greenspace and quiet suburban streets, Country Vista has much to offer.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
