Convenience and privacy near Texas Highway 6
With homes laid out along wooded streets, Allen Forest ensures that its name fits. But the shade and privacy afforded by mature trees aren’t the only selling points. Well-maintained homes and easy drives throughout the Bryan-College Station area via Texas Highway 6 draw in homebuyers looking for a peaceful neighborhood that’s still close to downtown Bryan.
One-story homes along suburban streets
Old-growth trees flank the suburban streets of Allen Forest, shading the neighborhood’s ranch- and snout-style homes. Large, grassy front yards and fenced-in backyards are common, and many of the 1980s-era houses have had updates, including kitchen upgrades. Homes often go for $200,000 to $300,000 and sell fairly quickly once on the market. “The best thing about that area is the affordability is still there compared to closer to downtown,” says Anthony Gutierrez, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Brazos Valley who has worked in the area for seven years. “If you can find a home you like, the affordability is going to be there.”
