Suburban Buffalo homes close to the city's most popular amenities
Elmwood Bidwell is a residential area close to many of northern Buffalo's hotspots, including Delaware Park and the AKG Art Museum. The vast majority of the neighborhood is made up of homes, such as smaller American Foursquares and more expansive Colonial Revival and Tudor-inspired styles that line the roads around Soldier’s Circle. Most residences are close to attractions, local shops and restaurants. The community is also near major roads and highways, making downtown Buffalo and the rest of New York very accessible. There are also a number of schools, ranging from elementary schools to the 210-acre campus of Buffalo State University.

Investment properties and large homes around Soldier's Circle
There are hundreds of homes throughout the community in styles such as classic American Foursquares, Colonial Revivals and even some Tudor homes sprinkled throughout. There are also a number of condos and homes that could use a little fixing up. Many properties are tall and narrow and placed toward the street, allowing for close neighbors and maximizing backyard space. “Most of the homes in the northern end of Buffalo are made up of the classic Foursquare design,” Lenahan says. “But when you get around the Soldier’s Circle area, that’s where you get a lot of those larger multi-million-dollar houses.” Prices can also vary heavily, with investment properties and condos ranging between $100,000 and $400,000. Slightly larger homes can fall between $400,000 and $800,000, and some can even run between $1 million and $2 million.

Local attractions around Delaware Park
Residents of Elmwood Bidwell are next to the famous Delaware Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the architect of New York City’s Central Park. The park has soccer fields and pickleball courts and an 18-hole course at the Delaware Park Golf Course. There are also shaded trails that loop around a small lake where flamingo-shaped paddle boats can be used in the warmer months. The Buffalo Zoo and the Buffalo AKG Art Museum are also nearby. “Even the houses that hold the animals are architectural marvels,” Lenahan says. “And the AKG is a world-class museum that just reopened this year after a massive renovation.”
