Midcentury ranch-style homes with large, landscaped lots
Manhattan boasts single-family midcentury ranch-style houses, contemporary split-levels and condos. “You see a lot of the original midcentury homes that have been there since the beginning that are getting cool updates but still keeping the midcentury design in place, so that keeps it super popular,” says Angie Hall, Realtor at Windermere Real Estate and Belle Residence team member. “A lot of great little one-levels with daylight basements or true ramblers. There’s a nice variety.” Built in the 1950s and '60s, most homes range from $400,000 to $900,000. Hall says Manhattan is more affordable compared to other areas, like its close neighbor Normandy Park. “You still get a Normandy Park address with it, and your value grows and holds over time.” Residents enjoy fenced-in backyards growing fruit trees, with abundant space for gardening or entertaining. “Manhattan has beautiful landscaping, there are a lot of large lots that are well maintained, and people have a lot of space.” Higher-end homes boast these immaculately landscaped backyards with stone footpaths, covered patios and multi-car garages. The High Point Condos offer a quiet, wooded setting, outdoor pool, tennis court and indoor spa for residents.
