It’s a pretty place to live. Everywhere you go, it’s just beautiful.” And while Burnside Township does not have any parks in its immediate area, it has nearby several. North Branch Memorial Park, located ten miles from Burnside, features a war memorial, a playground and a skatepark. Hunters can explore the grounds at Lapeer State Game Hunting Area. Finally, because Burnside Township is in the “thumb” of Michigan, locals enjoy waterside fun at Lake Huron. Saginaw Bay is about a 31-mile drive from Burnside Township, making for a perfect weekend trip to catch the beautiful water views.

Roma Village Pizza is a popular pizza joint directly in Burnside Township and there are even more restaurants available in the nearby city of Marlette. The Hilltop Coney Diner in Marlette is a roadside diner that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jocularity in Marlette is a great cafe to grab a coffee and a pastry, and it also has event space available for rent. The Horseshoe Grill in Brown City features several different types of cuisines, including American, Greek, Italian, BBQ and more. Ben’s Supercenter in Brown City is a great supermarket for residents in Burnside who need to restock their pantries. There’s also Pineberry Shoppe, a home décor shop that stands out because of its location. “It’s just this store in the middle of nowhere with a lot of cute stuff," Blanton says. "Pineberry Shoppe is a diamond in the rough."

Brown City schools serve Burnside Township

So, while Burnside may be small, the hearts of its residents loom large and make it a warm, welcoming place.
