Calverton spans two counties and offers easy access to amenities
                        
Founded in 1964, the community of Calverton spans two counties (Prince George’s County and Montgomery County) and offers residents a range of housing options, as well as proximity to retail amenities, the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Hospital and several major thoroughfares.

An expansive suburb, Calverton is located in central Maryland, just 10-minutes west of Beltsville and about twenty minutes north of Silver Spring. Comprised of over 1500 households, Calverton offers residents a range of homes in a variety of sizes and styles. Prospective buyers can choose from detached single-family homes in minimalist designs like cottages, Cape Cods and split-levels, or opt for traditional new builds and colonial revival styles. Calverton also offers two-storied town houses and condo options. The average sales price in Calverton is $450,000, but price points can vary from the mid $100,000s for a one-bedroom one-bath condo; to the mid $400,000s for a three-bedroom two-bathroom town home; and into the high $700,000s for a four-bedroom, five-bath Colonial with an attached two-car garage. School districts in Calverton are dictated by a student’s home address. For those who fall within the Prince George’s Public School System, you’ll attend schools like Calverton Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle and High Point High School. For those in Montgomery County, a typical pathway would be Galway Elementary, Briggs Chaney Middle School and Paint Branch High. The Prince George’s County School District is ranked as the third best for athletes in all of Maryland, while Montgomery County ranks as the second-best overall school district in the state, according to Niche.com.                        
                    
                    
                            Local parks and a swim club offer plenty of ways to stay active
                        
With residents belonging to two separate county governments, local organizations like the Calverton Citizen’s Association, oversee communal entities like the Calverton Swim Club, which provides a place for locals to gather for aquatic activities as well as volleyball matches. For those who want to get outdoors, a visit to one of three local parks will help you expend some energy. The Calverton-Galway Local Park features baseball diamonds, a playground and athletic fields, while the Fairland Recreational Park to the north offers miles of paved and natural trails across its 322-acres.                        
                    
                    
                            Shopping plazas offer big-box stores, groceries and dining
                        
For all your everyday amenities, Calverton’s commercial hub lies to the south of the community and offers a multitude of retail options, and industrial and office spaces. Bordered to the west by US-29/Columbia Pike, and to the east by Cherry Hill Road, this area features three shopping plazas each with unique offerings. For big box retailers and grocery options, The Orchard Shopping Center off of Cherry Hill Road, features a Target, Kohls department store, a PetSmart and both a Giant and Aldi supermarkets. While the Westech Village Corner off of Old Columbia Pike primarily features chain restaurants for quick bites, like Qdoba, TGIFridays and Chick-fila.                        
                    
                    
                            Commuters benefit from nearby highways and transit options
                        
For those who commute to and from neighboring cities, public parking lots, like the Maryland MDOT Park & Ride system, offers free parking for those who wish to carpool or take public transit. In addition, being nearly equidistant between, residents’ access to the Intercounty Connector (I-200), I-95, and I-29 means you can get where you need to be, fast.
Right next door, residents can rest easy knowing that the Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center is just minutes from their front door. With over 115 years of service in this community, this hospital is the first comprehensive cardiac center in Montgomery County and also provides emergency, stroke, maternity, cancer, surgical and orthopedic care.
