Antelope-Chapparal in Centennial
Antelope-Chapparal offers open space with vast yards, abundant nature and scenic and panoramic landscapes in Centennial, Colorado. “The primary draw to the area is freedom from the city and being within 5 minutes of shopping, entertainment, and dining,” says Christina Yarmul, a Realtor and Partner at Pollock & Company. “We call it ‘Close-in Country Living.’ People want more space; they want to get out of the suburbs and have some breathing room from their neighbors.” Residents get that space by settling into Antelope-Chapparal, on the outer edge of Centennial, where homes are all custom-built on spacious lots in a variety of sizes.
Buying into Antelope-Chapparal
In Antelope, the homes there all have lots of two or more acres, are zoned for horses and feature trails for walking or horseback riding. In the Chapparal section, the lots range between one and two acres and are not zoned for horses. “All the Antelope homes are on private well and septic systems,” Yarmul says. “A plus of that is not having to pay a monthly water bill.” Overall, the Antelope-Chapparal area’s homes usually cost between $925,000 and $2 million. A few houses cost less, but many are priced at or higher than that. Ranch homes are common, as are bi- and multi-levels and the occasional mountain mansion. Many residences sit on rolling hills and feature views of the mountains; the area also has fields, trees and open areas where residents might see deer or foxes wandering around.
Attending Cherry Creek School District
Students attend Creekside Elementary School, which has an A grade from Niche. Liberty Middle has an A-minus, and Grandview High School earns an A-plus. All three schools are within the award-winning Cherry Creek School District.
Tennis, golfing and biking close to home
For a day outdoors, residents dive in at the Chapparal Metropolitan Rec Center, serve a ball on the tennis courts, or stop by the Saddle Rock Golf Course to hit the links. The mostly flat streets are ideal for cyclists and are lined with hallmarks of Colorado nature.
Retail on Parker and Arapahoe Roads
Shopping outlets, places to eat and other establishments, like movie theaters and bowling alleys, are located on Parker and Arapahoe Roads. The Saddle Rock Village Mall features a SuperTarget, Anytime Fitness and Ace Hardware alongside other chains. Local restaurants include Sunrise Asian Cuisine and Las Fajitas Mexican Restaurant, where the latter’s menu ranges from salads to enchiladas to burritos. Sprouts Farmers Market is also nearby.
E-470, DIA and the Denver Tech Center
“Both neighborhoods allow easy access to E-470, Denver International Airport and the Denver Tech Center,” Yarmul says. “Both neighborhoods are situated on rolling hills which allow some homes to have mountain views, both areas are popular for growing families and you have space for your toys and large yards for the kids to play.” The Denver Tech Center is host to locations for many companies, including PepsiCo, Sprint, Microsoft and Boeing. Antelope-Chapparal is just off of E-470, which curves past Denver and Aurora to the northern part of the metropolitan area and the airport, known as DIA, serves more than two dozen passenger airlines, and travelers can fly to Canada, Mexico and Europe.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
