Greenfield is a community known for its tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by tree-shaded streets, with a clubhouse, park and pool in the neighborhood, you might find children chasing each other up and down the sidewalks in the summer or on sleds in the winter. This is an ideal setting for those seeking a serene, close-knit environment with outdoor amenities within walking distance of their home.
Walk along the neighborhood’s well-maintained sidewalks and find contemporary, cohesive homes, many featuring three- or four-car garages. Streets here are wide and walkable, with cul-de-sacs where you can teach your kids to ride their bikes. Mature trees and white picket fences dot lawns and surrounding roads, and there’s a lake residents stroll around in the warmer months. Many homes feature stone or brick facades, and some have a Tudor influence, with half-timbering. The median price here is $753,750, and homes over 2,500 square feet reach the $900,000 range, with ranchers in the $500,000 range. According to Susan Duncan, a Realtor with Re/Max Professionals, “The neighborhood is varied, price-wise. There’s a pocket of the neighborhood that’s all ranch-style homes in a lower price range that consists mainly of seniors. Then, you’ve got a lot of single-family homes in that middle price range. Further south, there’s Greenfield Estates, where the homes are larger and more expensive.”
Students here are zoned for the Cherry Creek School District and can attend Fox Hollow Elementary School before moving to Falcon Creek Middle School. Both schools receive an A-minus rating from Niche. Then, they can finish their academic journey at Grandview High School, which Niche gives an A-plus rating. “Many people move to this area just to be in the Cherry Creek School District,” says Duncan. The high school offers 30 Advanced Placement classes, and, for students taking Chinese, there’s an option to take an immersion trip to China. Depending on where students live in the neighborhood, they might be able to walk to school.
“Open your door, and there’s kids all over,” says Duncan, who used to live nearby. “The sense of community is a big reason people move here.” Sidewalks and trails throughout the neighborhood ensure kids can safely and easily walk to their friends’ houses or meet up at Greenfield Pool, which includes a clubhouse and a waterslide. Parents can play each other in a game of tennis on the adjacent courts or head to Greenfield Park, located in a large green space behind some homes. In addition to a grassy area, the park has a playground with a swing set. Throughout the year, the Homeowners Association hosts various events at the neighborhood clubhouse, including a fall festival and a Fourth of July parade. Trails also run behind and throughout the area, where you can go for a run or walk your dog. Plus, close by is Saddle Rock Golf Course, the former home of the Colorado Open and a preferred spot for a high-end golf experience in the Denver area. Play a round on this high-plains, links-style course or take in the panoramic views of the Rockies in the club’s restaurant.
Travel about 3 miles northwest of the neighborhood and find everything you need regarding shopping and dining. Along East Smoky Hill Road, there are various shopping centers. Here, you can find McDonald's, Chipotle and Starbucks for something quick to eat and a movie theatre that entertains residents on rainy days. There are also multiple gas stations and banks that ensure you’ll be ready for a trip to Denver—only about 25 miles away. Grab groceries at Sprouts Farmers Market or King Soopers, right next to each other along East Smoky Hill Road. About three miles to the east, there’s Southlands Shopping Mall, the largest regional shopping mall in Aurora, Colorado. Pick a last-minute outfit or grab dinner at this outdoor lifestyle center with a four-block main street and community plaza.
To travel outside the neighborhood, jump on East Smoky Hill Road, and you can be on the interstate in minutes. Interstate 25 will take you north to Denver or about 65 miles south to Colorado Springs.
