Trails, parks and a reservoir offer year-round outdoor fun

Central to the neighborhood’s desirability is its proximity to nature. Piney Creek meanders through the area, creating serene waterways, picturesque trails and lush green spaces for locals to explore. Piney Creek Trail maintains paved walking paths along the creek, where morning jogs and evening strolls are daily rituals, offering moments of peace and reflection. Another local favorite is Village Park, where shouts of children on the playground echo through the air, while loved ones celebrate under the pavilion. The renowned Cherry Creek Park is next door, filled with rolling hills and an 880 acre reservoir. “The proximity to Cherry Creek State Park is huge. Just steps away, you can access the great outdoors. It’s common to spend the weekend boating along the reservoir or watch the sunrise on a paddleboard,” Dodd says. Cherry Creek is also home to multiple hiking and biking trails, an off-leash dog park and a riding stable where one can explore the Wild West authentically on horseback along the grasslands.

Exclusive to HOA residents, Piney Creek is also home to multiple parks, spanning 16 acres total. The East Park includes the clubhouse, swimming pool and four tennis courts. Here, it’s common to see friends playing Frisbee along the turf field or loved ones picnicking along the serene pond. The neighborhood is also home to the Trails Recreation Center, where kids can play in the extensive 18,000-square-foot aquatic area. You may see kids floating along the lazy river or racing down the waterslides. Other amenities include a rock climbing wall, skatepark and cultural arts programs, making it an excellent spot for the whole family to try out a pottery, photography or dance class.
