Home to a historic downtown
Chardon is a place where life spreads out along green fields, and snow falls an average of 100 inches a year. Here, there’s a historic downtown, where rows of buildings with federal influences surround a central square, and, every Friday, the community gathers for a farmer’s market. Away from the neighborhood’s center, things spread out, and the landscape is dotted with oaks, pines and the occasional wooden picket fence.
Colonial Revivals and ranch-style homes
Whether you live near downtown or away from it, home prices stay pretty consistent. Further from the town center, homes are spread amid a country landscape with expanses of green fields, above-ground power lines and long driveways leading to garages. Closer to downtown, homes are dotted along sidewalks and sit closer together. In the mid to upper $100,000 range, find a three-bedroom ranch-style property that might need some fixing up. In the $200,000 to $300,000 range, expect a Colonial Revival or Foursquare property with modern interiors. For $400,000 to $500,000, buyers can expect new construction with contemporary styles. There are also some luxury, remote properties away from the town center that reach into the millions.
Chardon has plenty homes with multiple floors and attached garages.
Colonial Revivals are ideal for larger families in Chardon.
