Suburban Heathwood-Old Towne is near downtown Charleston

Across the Ashley River from downtown Charleston, Heathwood-Old Towne is defined by its single-family homes and streets lined with mature live oak trees. The neighborhood’s bungalow and ranch-style housing was built in the 1960s and 1970s. Still, buyers have been making renovations, and homes have been “moving fast,” as the area is close to some of Charleston’s historical attractions, medical facilities and good schools, says Randall Sandin, a Realtor with Carolina One Real Estate who has been selling in the area for 18 years.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students.
